The building of the Royal country exemplary brewery, in Kačićeva street, was designed by Matija Antolc in 1891, afterwards it was built according to his design, by the construction company Šafranek and Wiesner. The investor of the construction was the High royal land government, for the needs of the Royal country exemplary brewery. The building originally had a basement and a ground floor, and then the first and second floors were upgraded. In the past, this building had significant reconstructions and upgrades and multiple purposes.
The subject of this project is the reconstruction of the building for the storage of the Ethnographic Museum in Zagreb. In addition to the areas for storing materials, there will also be areas for restoration and preparation workshops that are an integral part of the fundus protection, and a photo studio for the needs of museum documentation. In the attic, there will be spaces for employees and for the museum archive, and in the entrance rooms there will be smaller exhibition spaces intended for visitors. The building is registered in the register of cultural goods of the Republic of Croatia.
