Student Residence Complex of the University of Dubrovnik, Dubrovnik

With the Student residence construction project in Dubrovnik, the University of Dubrovnik wants to provide the highest standards for quality education for non-domicile students. This project will provide 503 beds in the student residence, 2000 meals daily in the student restaurant, multifunctional premises for joint work and socialising of students, basic medical care and other auxiliary facilities.
Clearing of the land plot and demolition of the existing buildings of the Institute for Mediterranean culture, in the neighbourhood popularly called “Čokolino”, began at the beginning of August, 2018. In just 15 months, an impressive facility will be constructed on the site, consisting of two underground floors, a ground floor and four above-ground floors of unusual appearance. The underground floors will house parking places, a laundry, employee changing rooms, dental and general medical surgeries, and area for student entertainment and socialising. The reception, student restaurant, florist, hair salon and large multifunction hall for various public events and activities are located on the ground floor. There is a gym in the gallery area (raised part of the ground floor). The above-ground floors are in the form of three, rhomboid shaped towers that are mutually linked in the central section, containing student rooms and employee offices.

The project is being financed by EU funds.
