The object of the reconstruction was the building of the small covered riding hall (Jašionica) located in the Trg pravde square, at Prilaz baruna Filipovića 22, Črnomerec, Zagreb. Small covered riding hall was constructed in 1903 together with the Cavalry Barracks (Vozarska vojarna). At that time, it was part of the historical complex constructed for the purposes of the military rolling stock of the Town of Zagreb division troops and its appertaining units. The facility is part of the urban structure defining the historical identity of this cultural asset zone – the Town of Zagreb Historical Urban Complex.
The scheduled reconstruction included the conversion of the existing structure into the Land Registry Office of the Municipal Civil Court in Zagreb – intended use for public and social purposes. The riding hall reconstruction programme planned for the office-type areas (areas for clerks) combined with areas available to the public (central hall, courtroom and similar). In addition to the above, the area for archives was planned in the basement. The reconstruction would eliminate subsequent additions that had been physically leaning onto the existing riding hall, thus turning the reconstructed facility into a free-standing one. The area around the reconstructed riding hall will be designed as urban park with green areas covered with trees and plants and necessary footwalks as well as accompanying urban furniture.
The project is financed by the Republic of Croatia, Ministry of Justice.
