Kursalon, Lipik

A more significant development of the thermal springs in Lipik began in the second half of the 18th century. The architecture of the thermal resort was shaped at the turn from the 19th to 20th century. Among the other buildings the well-known kur-salon, the symbol of Lipik, built in 1893, features prominently. A Neo-Classicist structure, with a great assembly hall and a cinema auditorium, represents the main catering establishment, incorporated into a cultivated park. In the frame of the improvement and revitalization project of Kurbad in Lipik, damaged and devastated in the war, a closed protection structure in the shape of a tent has been constructed, which has covered the whole edifice and secured the undisturbed execution of all the restoration and conservation works in all weather conditions. The tent frame has been made of stable scaffolding, over 75,000 kg of steel structure, 3,000 m2 of metal sheet covering and special synthetic shield
