The building of the town's military authorities was constructed by the middle of the 19th century, outside the earlier town centre, in the part of Split that was created and shaped in the course of the 19th century. It retained the function of the military headquarters until the end of the 20th century, when it became the seat of the Heritage Authority. The determined condition of the edifice has demanded a high-quality static improvement. After the improvement, the reconstruction, the adaptation and the complete interior design have followed. The contemporary construction technology and the interior design, following the users' special demands, have been adjusted to the imperative of conservation of the architectural whole.
